Quick Update 2/17/16: I’ve Barely Slept in the Last 24 Hours

The last 24 hours have been weird ones. Yesterday was a good day. I got my main task done for the day, and then continued to work on the site for the guitar product. Specifically, I worked on designing the sales letter page of the site. I’m trying something new with this one. See, for the last several years, I’ve mainly been a WordPress guy. While I worked in Joomla and dabbled with a mixture of Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and my Read More …

Quick Update 2/15/16: Weekend Catch-up

I took a little weekend break from writing, but here’s a quick catch-up since my last note.  Saturday was mainly a non-work day. My nephew’s birthday party was in the morning, so Meag and I went up to Orange County for that, met her mom for lunch, then sat in gnarly traffic trying to get home to San Diego. At night, we had a nice hang with one of our best friends (and now neighbor) Danielle. Boring for you reading Read More …

Quick Update 2/12/16

Here it is, day 2 in my “posting every day no matter how boring it is” quick update series I made some more progress in my business today and I feel great! My main task for today was to finalize the first bonus offer for the guitar book. After that, I did some more writing in the third bonus (I’m about 80% done with the second) and took care of a few other things relating to freelance and musician work. After Read More …

Quick (sort of…) Update 2/11/16

Hello lovely people, A heck of a lot has happened since I last wrote to you. First of all, I didn’t launch! Then the holidays happened. Then I didn’t launch again in January like I tentatively planned (I didn’t even tell you about that, did I?). Then I got married and went on a honeymoon. Yeah, I got freaking married! And now here we are. But let’s back up ever so slightly and talk about my wedding. I married my Read More …

Quick Update 11/16/15

Greetings good people, Another quick update on this lovely, windy Monday Today was a hugely productive day. I spent the morning finishing up the edits from my personal proofreading for the guitar book, and then sent it off to my great friend, David Ryan Norgren, for a round of proofing from him. After that, I’ll have my fiancé go over it for the non-muso’s perspective, and then Dave and I will go over it once more. I’m feeling pretty good Read More …

Product Launch Coming Soon (ish)

Friends, I apologize for the radio silence over the past several weeks. I’ve been focusing on my projects, had a show going, and have been doing more Uber in addition to starting to work for Postmates, so I put the blog on the backburner. Just a quick update for today I went with my gut and decided to go with a guitar product as my first product. I’ve spent the last weeks building the product — outlining, writing, designing, and Read More …

The Light’s There, Sometimes it’s Just Hard to See

I’ve been struggling lately. The ups and downs of solopreneurship I was told so much about going into this have been in full swing this last week or two. And I mean full swing — I feel like I’ve been going from over-the-moon excited and seeing the possibilities for the future to depressed and feeling like a complete failure (before I’ve even truly begun) in the time it takes me to brush my teeth. And then back. And then back Read More …

Niche Research: A Few More Weeks in the Alex Jeffreys Coaching Academy

I’ve been a little absent from my site for a few weeks and I’m sorry about that! It’s been hectic trying to stay inside my box working on a new product through the Alex Jeffreys Coaching Academy, and Meag and I also took a mini vacation to New York. I’ll write about the latter soon, but — for now — I wanted to fill you in on my progress in the AJCA. As you recall, I learned a lot early Read More …

My First Week in the Alex Jeffreys Coaching Academy

Remember how I told you I was in talks to possibly sign up for Alex Jeffreys to be my mentor and that I’d tell you about it soon? Well, now I’m telling you about it. After a couple of phone calls and doing a little research, I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. I joined the Alex Jeffreys Coaching Academy. This was not cheap at $1,500, but it was much more affordable than I thought it was going Read More …

Playing All Shook Up: My Experience as a Blues Guitarist for a Month

Since this site is new, I’ll be working my way backwards in shows for a little bit. Just before (and slightly overlapping) Shrek the Musical this summer, I did a three-week run playing All Shook Up. Man, that show was a blast! First, a little background on the show: All Shook Up is set in a small Midwestern town in the mid to late ‘50s. Roustabout Chad gets out of jail and lands in this small town, inadvertantly plays Cupid, and causes Read More …
